BEAD Letter of Intent (6/23/2025)

Due to the accelerated timetable for BEAD required under the new NTIA Policy Notice, the deadline for submission of the Letter of Intent is Friday, JUNE 27, 2025.  NO EXTENSIONS will be granted for the LOI, however, additional information may be requested while the LOI is under review. This week is the only opportunity to complete the Letter of Intent.  Applicants who do not submit a Letter of Intent by June 27, 2025, will not be allowed to participate in the BEAD application process.

The LOI Guide and other resources are available here: https://www.beam.ms.gov/letter-of-intent.

BEAD Restructuring: ULFW and BEAD Location Eligibility

As required by the BEAD Restructuring Policy Notice published June 6, 2025, (see Section 4: Optimizing BEAD Locations and Appendix A), unlicensed fixed wireless (“ULFW”) providers in the state of Mississippi are hereby notified that they have seven calendar days (until close of business Tuesday, June 17) to indicate that they intend to submit evidence that BEAD funding is not required for the locations they serve.

Providers must submit a notice of intent to submit evidence as well as new evidence to remove locations they claim to serve from BEAD eligibility, regardless of whether they participated in Mississippi’s BEAD Challenge Process conducted in accordance with Initial Proposal Volume I. Impacted providers should submit all notices to msbead@beam.ms.gov with the subject line “Intent to Provide Evidence – [Company Name]”

ULFW providers will have seven calendar days from the submission of their notice to BEAM to submit documentation supporting the claim that that the existing ULFW services meet the same technical and service standards required for a BEAD subgrant (see Appendix A of the Restructuring BEAD Policy Notice). If an ULFW service provider demonstrates that it meets the requirements specified by this Policy Notice, the served locations will be ineligible for BEAD Program funding.

Providers should review the technical criteria in Appendix A and be prepared to submit appropriate documentation as well as a list of locations for which they intend to assert service in the seven-day window following their notification of intent to claim service. Only locations where the FCC National Broadband Map indicates potentially qualifying unlicensed fixed wireless service is currently available will be considered in terms of determining BEAD eligibility.
